Top Baby Names for Boys & Girls in 2023
If you've got a baby on the way, you might be interested to know what the top baby name trends are popping up in 2023.
So far this year, we’ve already sold hundreds of Personalized Baby Books, and so we get to see the name trends first hand! But we also looked beyond just our experience and pulled together research from the Social Security Administration, BabyCenter.com, and TheBump.com to create lists of the top 30 baby names for girls and boys in 2023 - along with some rising trends.
What Types of Baby Names are Topping the List in 2023?
While there are still some names that are different and unexpected popping up, so far this year, we’ve seen a lot of traditional baby names making the list for most popular.
One trend we are seeing less of this year is creative spellings for names - so instead of Vyctorea, let’s just stick with Victoria, shall we?
Popular Baby Girl Name Trends
Baby girl names in 2023 have some otherworldly influence with names like “Luna” and “Nova” coming across our desk quite a bit, but there are also plenty of sweet, traditional names like Olivia, Charlotte, Amelia and Aurora on the list.
Baby names with “v” in them are also quite popular for girls (like Ava, Avery and Evelyn).
Popular Baby Boy Name Trends
Boys continue to hold strong with traditional names like Michael, James and Noah topping the list for most popular, but you’ll also see unconventional names like Kai, Rowan and Leo.
Names beginning with “L” seem to be extra popular for boys - Liam, Leo, Lucas and Levi have been printed on many a Nuts & Bolts Baby Book already this year!
